Plastic Surgery Reality Show For Indians

When shows like Extreme Makeover and Dr. 90210 aired on mainstream television in the US, the dam burst for cosmetic surgery. Perfectly ordinary people were seen stepping up to the cosmetic surgeon's table and emerging as glamorous individuals.

The face of plastic surgery in the US sure received a makeover of its own!

There is a similar wave of change set to attack India, the land of mythology and deep-set Hindu values. Plans are on to air a show called Naya Roop Nayi Zindagi (New Look New Life) which will be shot in Extreme Makeover format.

Just like its Western counterpart, the show is expected to feature Indians from every walk of life getting procedures like a tummy tuck or gynecomastia surgery. While liposuction currently bypasses a tummy tuck surgery in India, this show could just about break a lot of social taboos.

Middle class and urban India is more than prepared for this new wave of change with teenagers already going in for breast surgery and ear correction (otoplasty). Women are another demographic that is more than willing to experiment with their looks.

For a land that will pass any western treatment for an Ayurvedic (holistic) alternative, this is a major step and the outcome is highly anticipated.

The Plastic Surgery Institute of California is very interested in the outcome of such a step by the Indian TV and entertainment industry. It just could turn out to be the start of something really exciting!

Economy Rants: Downsizing On Cosmetic Surgery

Couple of things going on in our very own US of A brings newer facets of the plastic surgery profession to light.

For instance, there is the fight to hang on to cosmetic surgery by a faithful few. Reuters reported ASDS studied trends that noticed the American economy instead of discouraging people from spending on cosmetic surgery (still a luxury for the masses), is doing just the opposite.

Individuals are downsizing their needs and going in for injectable filler treatments that are less costly then a traditional face lift. Similarly, people are opting for an injection lipolysis instead of a liposuction procedure, a filler treatment for reducing wrinkles instead of an eyelid surgery, and so on.

Dr. Rigel of the ASDS sums it up very succinctly saying, "It's kind of like going from a Cadillac to a Buick."

But how much is this downsizing really helping the smart American? Less expensive and less painful alternatives to various cosmetic surgery procedures ultimately also yield less permanent results. Regular repetitions of these administrations are still required to maintain the look.

So what you end up doing is spending the same on your plastic surgery over a long-drawn period of time. Time to get smart I say and find out better affordable plastic surgery alternatives at the Plastic Surgery Institute of California.

Get started today.

To Live Longer Play Golf. To Look Younger Have Cosmetic Surgery

Tiger Woods is gonna be one lucky guy when enters his old age. According to a Swedish study, researchers discovered that golf is very intimately connected to longevity. Who would have thought that this posh (and boring) sport would be the key to live longer!

According to Professor Anders Ahlbom and Bahman Farahmand who helmed the study, "A round of golf means being outside for four or five hours, walking at a fast pace for six to seven kilometres, something which is known to be good for the health."

But what do you do with a long life if you have to enjoy it with a face that looks past its prime?

The way I see it, you have two options- either follow granny's nutrition plan from a very young age or maintain your looks with a little help from plastic surgery! Considering that golf is largely a white collar pastime, regular cosmetic enhancement won't be much of a problem.

But as unbelievable as it may sound for those in the lower income bracket, cosmetic procedures like a face lift or an eyelid surgery will still not be a problem. Mainly because these procedures are becoming more accessible and affordable for the average American.

The trend is certain to continue and is very likely to get past the glum economy. Alternatively, the Plastic Surgery Institute of California has fantastic financing options for any cosmetic surgery procedure or combination you'd wish to try out.

Older Plastic Surgery Patients & Anesthesia

Earlier in the year, researchers at the Duke University Medical Center discovered that patients above 60-years were more at risk for long-term cognitive problems after going through elective surgery procedures.

Cosmetic surgery too falls under this classification leading to some amount of concern among individuals who favor it and have had it.

The study found a lot of young and middle-aged and elderly patients experiencing postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) when they were discharged. Within three months, patients aged 60 and above were found to exhibit POCD more than the other age groups.

While researchers cannot pinpoint the exact causes of POCD, anesthesia administration during surgery is believed to be one of the triggers of this condition. There are some factions that attribute Bill Clinton’s lash out during his wife’s electoral campaign to POCD.

While complications from anesthesia are by no means common in everyone in the age around 60, it wouldn’t hurt to get yourself diagnosed completely by your plastic surgeon. At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California we have an intensive patient screening process for older patients.

Whether it is a liposuction surgery or a reconstructive face lift surgery you wish to have, our advanced surgical institute works ceaselessly towards reducing the risks that are always associated with surgery of any kind.

Cosmetic Surgery Happenings In Ireland

The Emerald Country’s name has been popping up a lot lately and from the look of things Ireland could suffer a serious setback in its leap to the list of countries to visit for cosmetic surgery.

The cosmetic surgery story making headlines in Ireland and the rest of world is about a 48-year-old woman who is believed to have died as a result of faulty hospital equipment.

Bernadette Reid-Kavanagh died after coming out from her gastric band surgery in February this year. If it weren’t for the machine that was supposed to monitor her blood pressure, pulse and oxygen backfiring, Bernadette it is alleged would have still been alive.

Doctors, on the other hand claim that she was over the limit of accepted weight and suffered from chronic asthma, reasons which are considered as deterrents to cosmetic surgery. The pathologist chronicled Bernadette’s death as the result of a cardiac condition that deprived the heart of blood supply. Obesity was stated as a contributory cause.

The patient’s family considers the lack of regulation of plastic surgery in Ireland one of the reasons why there is tumult felt in the field. Incidentally, this is a sentiment voiced by many in Ireland which makes it all the more serious and something Ireland’s health department should look into.

In the U.S. on the other hand, regulating boards for cosmetic surgery do exist. The widely respected and highly acclaimed certifying body, the ASPS is one such board. The Plastic Surgery Institute of California is proud to have a team of surgeons belonging to such an organization.

The Influential Plastic Surgery List

Cosmetic enhancement of some sort or another is just one of the common denominators binding those in the top ten slots on the Forbes Most Powerful Celebrity list existing.

While not many on the list may have come out-and-out about their cosmetic surgery, an occasional interest in it is no secret. It’s understandable, after all celebrities are the faces of the forces that come along with culture- be it fashion or the arts. A beautiful face is worth as much as the story behind it.

Let’s take Oprah Winfrey the leader of this list’s influentia. She is believed to have had a nose enhancement, a chin implant and a breast lift. Angelina Jolie follows a similar pattern with various skin treatments thrown in for good measure as does Beyonce with her alleged breast augmentation.

Footballer David Beckham, who is ranked number 5 on the list, is a mild sampler of injectables like Botox. Injectables that reduce wrinkles are admittedly more popular among men and contribute a lot to the polished faces making them as good as the brawn.

Far from disheartening us mere mortals, lists like these are simply measures of our own self-worth. Rather than comparing your inherent beauty with these perfect faces, look for little ways with which you can enhance your appearance.

Next time you want to ape a famous figure’s look, look towards your own self. The Plastic Surgery Institute of California recommends this more than anything else.

Cosmetic Surgery & Virgins

Somehow I keep reverting to that most ambiguous and mysterious places on the planet- the Middle East.

While the tumultuous newsflashes are as much to blame for my constant visits, it is also the plastic surgery trends in this region that draw me. There is a wave of change going about in the Arab countries no doubt, but certain aspects look like they are still soaking and dripping with hardcore tradition.

I’m talking about the Islamic conception of virginity which is insisted on being followed by unmarried women. A woman who is believed to have a ruptured hymen is not ‘respectable’ and has no status in Islamic society.

Driven by this need for hymen-preservation, women studying and living abroad and no longer ‘virgins’ have a cosmetic surgery procedure in the vaginal area called hymenoplasty.

This plastic surgery procedure is of a reconstructive nature and rebuilds the hymen, the membrane known to rupture when a woman undergoes intense physical disturbance or in this case, intercourse. While medical science no longer accepts the hymen as an indicator of virginity, some parts of the world are less inclined to think so.

A hymenoplasty, like most other plastic surgery procedures generally requested by women of Arabic descent or living in the Middle East, is usually hushed up. Lack of solid figures is the main reason why this trend cannot be studied in detail.

Change is inevitable and thankfully remains one thing that can be trusted to endure. Hopefully, it should remove the need for women to prove their virginity to society, not only in the Middle East but also in other similar societies.

Do you have a story to tell us and the world? Post it in at the Plastic Surgery Institute of California, one of the most trusted and acclaimed cosmetic surgery practices in the U.S.

Catherine Zeta Jones In Rebound – An Aesthetic Disaster

One of my favorite actresses, Catherine Zeta Jones has been looking rather unglamorous lately. For a woman whose every move exuded charisma and impeccable oomph, this new CZJ is someone I simply can’t bear to look at.

Her curves defined her and most of her roles had her essaying roles about strong women with more than a hint of the exotic. She was simply perfect in The Mask of Zorro and compared to her latest rom-com The Rebound, the difference is very apparent.

Catherine has had very less need to add or modify her body with plastic surgery. Though she doesn’t confirm it, cosmetic surgeons and fans are certain she has had a breast augmentation and eyelid surgery somewhere down the line.

Her curvy body looked less augmented when she was sighted shooting for The Rebound and point to her well-known weight fluctuations. Speaking about her weight problems she says, “My muscles have memory from the time I danced, and it’s quick for me to get back in shape, but I’m not fanatical.”

I do hope she gets back in shape soon as she has inspired many women who want some cosmetic surgery alterations to get body contours like hers. Even the Plastic Surgery Institute of California encounters many of her fans.

Are You In Shape For Father’s Day Daddies?

June is the month for all things fatherly with Father’s Day the main celebration to look forward to.

The Father’s Day celebration was born out of a daughter’s appreciation for the selfless and courageous life led by her father, a single father of 6 children. The first celebration was held in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June, 1910.

Today, Father’s Day is celebrated on the 15th of June and has reached a status similar to Mother’s Day. At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California it is the perfect excuse to tell you dads about the numerous ways you can indulge yourself in. Mommies and children, you can take notes too.

For men looking for something minimal and less invasive, we have microdermabrasion treatments and relaxing massages which you can top of with an injectable filler of Botox or Restylane. The latter are especially great for making wrinkles less visible.

If a tired and stressed face has got your children worried about your health and body, then try out any of our face lift surgery packages or separate rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery and brow lift surgery treatments.

For less huff and puff while you’re in the pool with the kids, a major elective surgery like abdominoplasty or a liposuction could be of great help. We not only perform these procedures, but also help you out with subsequent diet and workouts so that you stay trim and are able to maintain your post-surgery body.

There’s a lot you can do to enhance your body this Father’s Day and with our help you’ll look like the daddy to be proud of! Of course, you have to get your kids gifts and drive them to and fro from school as well, but that’s another story.

Facial Improvement – Always A Work In Progress

Faye Dunaway is the quintessential Madame of yester-year Hollywood and as a member of the Joan Rivers, Jane Fonda, and Bridgette Bardot brigade, Faye too has an image to maintain.

Notorious for her various cosmetic surgery urges and alterations Faye looked liked she had things in control at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Her face was nothing like the wrinkly and dull face she had a couple of years back.

Eyes had been lifted into place and cheeks looked properly full. Her mouth too looked ripe and enclosed dental veneers that sparkled and appeared cut-to-fit.

A face lift surgery accompanied by various minor plastic surgery treatments were guessed at and like the lady she is Faye let nothing out.

Lately spotted with a trout-pout as she stepped out to buy a pair of sunglasses in New York, Faye looked like she has stayed true to her promise of cosmetic modification with a lip augmentation.

From this picture I surmised that a traditional face surgery is not something Faye Dunaway must have had after all as surgeons usually include a lip enhancement in it. Faye most likely had separate face surgery procedures and added the lip augmentation as a follow-up procedure.

The effects of a traditional face lift lasts longer than individual surgeries performed on the patient and have less need for a follow-up procedure. If you’d like to know which face lift combination is the right one for you, let us know at the Plastic Surgery Institute of California.
