Liposuction

Liposuction is rightly called ‘the battle of the bulge’. Every third person today is troubled by this five-word phrase. Television, newspapers and magazines all the time thrust this information in your face. There are certain people who you can’t blame for the bulge, certain people have fat cell that don’t sink easily despite diet and exercise. Obesity has heredity to blame for this.

Liposuction helps remove small bulges that won’t budge and also helps to restore body shape. The areas most commonly treated include the hips, abdomen, thighs and buttocks and face. Liposuction does not remove cellulite, only fat.

A good candidate for liposcution should ideally have realistic expectations about the results of this procedure. Good overall health is a must, concentrated pockets of fat do not respond well to diet and exerice.
Age is generally not a major consideration when discussing liposuction; however, older patients often have less elasticity in their skin and thus may not achieve the same benefits of liposuction that a younger patient with tighter skin might achieve.
Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise. It is not an effective treatment for cellulite. Liposuction can however permanently reshape body contours where excess fat deposits create areas that are disproportionately large in an otherwise balanced figure.

Reconstructive Surgery

In cosmetic surgery normal body parts of the patient are modified to improve the way the patient looks and thus increase his self-esteem and confidence. Cosmetic plastic surgery is used to return the body part to its normal shape and improve appearance. A normal body part is improved on, for example, if a 50 year old woman has a face of a 50 year old and goes in for a face lift in order to look younger and better than she normally would have then it is cosmetic surgery.

In reconstructive surgery abnormalities in various body parts are corrected. These abnormalities may be due to congenital defects, defects in development, accidents or disease. It is usually performed to improve the functioning of the body part or to make the body part appear normal. In this surgery you take a part of the body that does not appear normal and correct it, to make it appear normal. For example correcting cleft lip or correcting a nose that has been damaged in an accident is reconstructive surgery as the body part is being reconstructed to look normal.

Plastic Surgery

When age catches up not just with number but with signs showing on your face and body, a little help from a cosmetic surgeon could be a very good option to help you regain your youthful looks and self confidence.

Today plastic surgery is an extremely commonplace surgery. There is a lot of thought put in it, but it is still relatively less complicated. Surgeries for the eyes, neck, breasts, tummy, thighs and knees can be performed in record time, you can be in and out of the clinic within a day and back at work the morning after, so no long absences are required and one does not need to take time off from work. Today they are far less invasive and drastic than classic cosmetic surgery techniques.

Ever thought about trying Lipstructure or chemical peels? Like the rest of the procedures we're taking a look at, they come in different forms and there are gentle ways of giving you an instant youthful boost.

Your beauty needs change as you get older. At 20, you're fighting imperfections; at 30, fighting fatigue and at 40, fighting the effects of time. No matter what the age, and no matter what the problem the solution can definitely be a simple cosmetic surgery procedure. There is nothing like looking good and feeling good and if a simple and uncomplicated procedure can change the way you look and feel then why not go for it!

Some facts and figures on Cosmetic Surgery

LONDON: The number of middle-aged men undergoing cosmetic surgery in the United Kingdom has doubled in just five years as they struggle to come to terms with 'menopaunch', according to a report.

Men aged over 50 are spending thousands of pounds and taking weeks off work to have liposuction and other procedures such as eye bag removal (blepharoplasty) in attempts to remove stubborn fat, The Daily Telegraph reported on Monday, quoting a cosmetic surgery company as saying.

Figures produced by The Harley Medical Group show that liposuction -- including work done on the abdomen, flanks, chest and chin areas -- accounts for 24 per cent of surgical procedures for 50-something men.

This was followed by blepharoplasty (21 per cent), face lifts (14 per cent), rhinoplasty or nose operations (11 per cent), tummy tucks (eight per cent), neck lifts (seven per cent) and ear surgery (two per cent).

"We have seen a dramatic increase in the number of 50-something male patients coming into our clinics. Liposuction is the most popular procedure. The amount of fat removed can range from 50 ml to three litres," the newspaper quoted Harley's Director Liz Dale as saying.

However, she stressed that liposuction, which costs about 3,700 pounds, should be done only for "stubborn fat" and "was not a quick cure for weight gain".

Surgeons check that patients have taken steps to reduce their weight before agreeing to liposuction, she said.

"Males account for a quarter of blepharoplasty procedures at The Harvey Medical Group, with 60 per cent of those from the over-50s age group," said Patrick Whitfield, a surgeon.

Feel good!

It is believed that to live a happy and satisfied life man should be in harmony with both physical and moral self. Living in harmony with the surrounding world and the environment also plays a great role.

Therefore its not surprising people want to meet the accepted standards of beauty. Plastic surgery is thought to be a way to these standards, as this puts together both medical and aesthetical aspects, psychological balance and social well-being are thought to stand in close relation with beautiful appearance. Everybody would love to achieve social weight and meet the best standards of beauty. Age is not allowed to be an obstacle for “being in a good form”, though nobody is getting younger as the time passes.

This short phrase “feel well” includes in reality the cooperation of biochemistry, psychology, medicine, endocrinology, dietology, dermatology and so on. No wonder that the fastest results, which are promised by plastic surgeons, are so tempting for people.

There are many reasons, which explain this obsessive preoccupation with beauty in modern world. Most of them appeal to such social factors like male domination over women or competition between women. Some psychoanalysts are even aware of cases when a small girl is envious about her mother’s nice appearance.

Neck Lift

Neck lift is a good way to get people to think you’ve lost weight or that you’ve performed some rigorous exercise to tone your neck. Neck lift can easily be overlooked. There are also several other solutions to fix a sagging or fleshy neck. Sometimes it also works the other way round, after you lose a lot of weight, your neck could take time to catch up.

Ofcourse hereditary is also a big reason for undergoing a neck lift. Though there is no age bar for a neck lift, people young and old undergo neck lift procedures all the time.

Neck lift is a set of procedures used to enhance the appearance of your neck. Cervicoplasty is the procedure used to remove excess skin. Platysmaplasty removes or alters neck muscle. Your surgeon also can perform neck liposuction, which removes excess fat. In some cases, botox injections may be the answer to your problems if you have fullness or "bands."

In liposuction, the surgeon makes a small incision below the chin and the excess fat is removed. When undergoing multiple procedures for a neck lift, the surgeon most often thannot begins with liposuction.

If you have weakened or loose neck muscles, this may cause the "turkey waddle" or appearance of neck "bands." Today there are new, less invasive neck procedures, where your surgeon may be able to make smaller incisions and use an endoscope (small camera attached to a thin tube) to complete your surgery. Make sure you ask your surgeon for all your options during your consultation.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation today is changing the shape of the world. Also known as augmentation mammoplasty, breast augmentation has been a growing area of plastic surgery.
There are currently two different types of implant available - silicone and saline. Silicone implants are widely used as they give a more natural shape and feel.
Your Cosmetic Surgeon will advise you on the most appropriate implant for yourself and discuss issues specific to the implants such as capsular contracture and when you need to change the implants.

Following the surgery, you will need to keep your breasts well supported. Your stitches and/or dressings will be removed after seven days, at which time you can return to work.

You may also have drainage tubes in your breasts - these will be removed the day after your surgery, before you go home. Your breasts will be firm and swollen at first, and will take several weeks to settle and adapt a more natural position and feel. By wearing your sports bra, you will feel more comfortable and have the necessary support.

Breast lift, breast reduction, breast augmentation, tummy tuck, liposuction, thigh and buttock lift with face surgeries are performed successfully together.

Cosmetic breast surgery gives you a lot of individualized options for changing the size and shape of your breasts. Surgical methods and breast-implant technology have improved dramatically in recent years: breast augmentation is less invasive, with more options and better post-surgical results.

Washboard Abs

Washboard abs are everyone’s dream. Abdominoplasty, also known as a Tummy Tuck or simply TT, is the surgery of the abdomen to remove the excess skin and fat that may accumulate after pregnancy, obesity or age.

Having a flat stomach or more commonly, “washboard abs” is not just accomplished by working out daily, it has to become an all-encompassing lifestyle. The key components are healthy diet, cardiovascular training, and abdominal exercises. If a movie star stomach is your goal, you must realize that to achieve your goal you have to first concentrate on what you eat, not how many situps you do in a day. Of course, as with any fitness and health goal – nutrition and exercise are always the main ingredient.

This procedure is not only for women but is widely sought after even by men. Regardless of gender, this isn't a simple procedure and you should definitely be aware of the risks and post-operative care and attendance that will be needed.

Abdominoplasty surgery is beneficial in helping these individuals obtain a tauter, slimmer waist and flatter abdomen. In some cases, abdominoplasty is not needed and only suction-assisted lipectomy can improve the loose skin of the abdomen. Also endoscopic abdominoplasty may be an option for those who need more than just abdominal liposuction.

You must be mentally and emotionally stable to undergo a cosmetic procedure. This is an operation which requires patience and stability in dealing with the healing period.

We at The Plastic Surgery Institute of California help you achieve and attain your dream. No exercise, no diets just a simple procedure and you can achieve Hollywood looks!

Get rid of FAT

One of the biggest concerns today that people are faced with is weight gain. As we all know it is so easy to put on weight, but when it comes to losing it, it is rightly called ‘sweating it out’. This dilemma has spawned generations, and we are trying to come up with ways and means of losing that ‘flab’ or fat.

Today we have aerobic exercises, gymnasiums and products like diet drinks that help individuals lose weight but often do not produce the much required difference. To achieve that maximum difference and a noticeable change the practical solution is liposuction. Liposuction (or lipoplasty as it is technically known) assists individuals remove the fat deposits that plague certain areas of the body. According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, liposuction was the most popular cosmetic surgery procedure in America for 2003 with a total of 384,626 cases of the procedures being performed.

Liposuction is usually a cosmetic surgery so it is not considered medically necessary (there are rare exceptions to this). Because It is you who has to decide whether or not you will undergo this procedure. You may decide that liposuction is not right for you. You may make this decision without consulting a physician or after consulting with a physician. A consultation with a physician does not obligate you to have liposuction if you decide that you do not want to.

There are alternative to liposuction, but are not as effective. You can change your diet to lose some excess body fat, you can exercise, you can start accepting your body and appearance the way it is and most often you can take the help of lose fitting clothes, which hide your flabs.

Consult a physician liposuction is a commonly performed surgery today. It could be the best choice.
