Is Eighteen Too Soon For Cosmetic Surgery?:

Ashlee Simpson, Ashley Tisdale and maybe the Jonas Brothers member Joe Jonas have all had plastic surgery, either for reconstructive purposes or for plain ol’ cosmetic joy. The serious issue of teen plastic surgeries has been highlighted lately with the story about the high school teenager who died of anesthesia complications while she was having a reconstructive breast augmentation.

The question is for how long can regulating authorities hold back these young minds from reading about celebrity plastic surgery junkies like Pamela Anderson, Victoria Beckham, Christina Aguilera and Paris Hilton on a daily basis? And parents who actually gift their teenager kids rhinoplasty and gynecomastia correction procedures are another kettle of fish altogether.

Whether it is a new tech gadget or a cosmetics line, the youth are the most bombarded sections of society and sadly the most impressionable as well. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons exhorts plastic surgeons and parents alike to discourage teenagers who wish to have plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons. The most common reason being their bodies which are yet undergoing change and development.

An advanced surgical institute like the Plastic Surgery Institute of California has a meticulous screening procedure that is implemented by experienced and qualified plastic surgery consultants. Reconstructive plastic surgery for teenagers are met with the same stringent measures as is cosmetic surgery.
