Gold Standard For Wrinkle Reduction & Treatment Found

Face lift surgery patients who want to zap wrinkly skin without the need of surgery have just received a better hope of getting the treatment they are looking for.

Carbon dioxide laser resurfacing is the treatment that a new study claims to be better than previous cosmetic surgery procedures like dermabrasion and chemical peels. The study conducted by the University of Michigan concluded that carbon dioxide laser resurfacing would lead to long-term improvements in wrinkle reduction.

Unlike a face lift, these cosmetic surgery treatments are considerably less invasive and involve lesser recovery periods. This particular treatment makes use of carbon dioxide lasers to vaporize water molecules in the skin causing it to produce wrinkle-filling collagen.

What makes this study important is that such a face lift alternative has been around for quite some time, but was discounted in favor of other wrinkle reducing options due to the side effects involved. This study also found that the 42 individuals who had the procedure for the entire face experienced a 45 percent reduction in wrinkles over a period of two years.
